Oh my gosh! It has been such a good week this week. It went by so fast
too! Just a heads up to everyone that transfer calls are this Saturday
so just in case, don't send anything to the Kentucky address. Send it
to the mission office one. Anyway let's get started!
Monday: Not a lot happened. We dressed in service clothes to help Mary
move at some point, but she never called us so we couldn't do much. So
we tracted the rest of the day.
Tuesday: We tried a bunch of people, but they all said to come back
later that day. So we did. And all of them fell through. We met a guy
who says he is a less active, but we weren't sure, so we shared the
restoration with him. When we first pulled up to the less active's
house, their kids kept hitting Elder McCoy with a stick and they
started throwing mud at us too. Fortunately, we didn't get any on us.
Then we helped Mary and Marilyn move for an hour and then ate at the
Abneys. We went to Miss Lynda's for a little bit and then when we left
I'm not joking when I say that it was lightning and thundering
nonstop. Like there was not one point where the sky wasn't lit up by
lightning. It was crazy. I also went outside for five seconds
(literally 5 seconds) while it was raining and got completely soaked.
It was weird.
Wednesday: We had district meeting. Shared a lesson at Mary and
Marilyn's new apartment. Went over to a potentials house and they said
that their family would read the Book of Mormon. Then we taught Book
of Mormon class.
Thursday: We went to Sister Wiebe's house and she was having a truck
being towed so we tried a former and then came back to help her with
her chores. We started reading out of the Howard W Hunter book with
her and it is pretty good so far. We saw a potential and her Mom. When
we taught them the restoration, they wouldn't really talk to us. After
the lesson though, the mom said she would read the Book of Mormon. She
said she believed in apostles and told us an experience about how an
apostle, not of our church, healed her. We don't know what to think
about that. Then we saw Mary and read Enos together. We had dinner
with the Hoots and it was lovely. We tracted until 8pm and we saw
fireflies for the first time! It was pretty awesome!
Friday: Nothing really special happened except we got to eat dinner
with the Covingtons! Oh man I love all of them! We blew up balloons
with the children and started making hats and stuff. It was great!
Saturday: We mowed Sister Wiebe's lawn and cut some branches off her
trees. We tried seeing a less active with Brother Bailey, but they
weren't there, so we tried two potentials and on the way there, a lady
stopped us to bless her house. She was a little intoxicated, but she
was happy we did it. Then she told us our fortunes or something.
Brother Bailey's was "your foot has healed a lot." Elder McCoy's was
"it's so great of you putting flowers at the grave." And mine was
"your pen keeps breaking on you." It was interesting.
Sunday: OH MY GOODNESS! GUESS WHO CAME TO CHURCH!!!

Sunday: OH MY GOODNESS! GUESS WHO CAME TO CHURCH!!!
GUESS GUESS GUESS!!!!!! Tonya Steele came to church with her family!
It was such a surprise because she said she was working and wouldn't
come to church this Sunday, but they did anyway! It made my day so hard!
It was awesome! They only came to sacrament meeting, but it was better than
nothing! Apparently Tonya works Sunday nights and she sleeps in the
morning so she can be rested, but she came to church all on her own!
It was awesome! President Coots texted us this morning asking if we
wanted the weights to the weight bench that they threw away and then
Elder McCoy brought home. So we said sure and they had a ton of
weights! It was ridiculous. Then we saw Matthew just to see how he was
doing. He said he hasn't read the Book of Mormon yet, but he is
thinking about getting baptized he just doesn't have his answer yet.
We encouraged to read the Book of Mormon so he can get that answer.
Then we went to the Owens house for a very early dinner. It was Riley
Bunce's birthday and we celebrated with them. It was a lot of fun.
It may not seem like a great week to all of you, but it was pretty
great to me. Especially Sunday! 1 Corinthians 2:9-11 really stuck out
to me. The Spirit of God will give you your testimony. God will reveal
himself through the Holy Ghost, allowing you to know the truth of all
things. Remember that is pretty much the only way that God will reveal
himself unto you. I hope y'all have a good week! Bye!
